Valentine’s Day Giveaway

There was something today that made me, kind of, sad. 🙂 At the end of the class, I said to my students, “Happy Valentine’s Day, guys.” Mostly they just laughed but one boy passed my table on his way out and murmured, “Not to those who are single.”

*gasps*

That made my heart sink a bit. I wanted to say something but he left already. That made me think, why not? I know some think that Valentine’s Day is just a commercialized event and my belief doesn’t admit it. But giving love to others, it’s not the prerogative of those who are ‘with someone.’ Right? We love our parents, brothers, sisters, friends, cats, flowers, turtles, you name it.
